HDB is gearing up to launch 2,085 Build-To-Order (BTO) flats in its October sales exercise. These flats, located across Bukit Batok and Sengkang, will come with shortened waiting times, aiming to address the growing demand for faster housing solutions.
The star of this launch is the West BrickVille @ Bukit Batok project, which promises to be ready within just two years, marking one of the shortest waiting times ever offered by HDB. Two other projects in Sengkang, Fernvale Sails and Fernvale Oasis, are also reducing waiting times to just over two years.
HDB’s concerted effort to cut down construction timelines has resulted in nearly 3,000 SWT (Shorter Waiting Time) flats launched this year alone, surpassing their target a year ahead of schedule.
About 70% of these new flats are 4-room and 5-room units, catering to families seeking affordable, quality housing. With HDB working closely with government agencies to secure land early and begin construction ahead of project announcements, this initiative reflects HDB’s commitment to delivering more flats with shorter waiting times.
The West BrickVille project will feature 689 units across various flat types, incorporating designs inspired by the area’s brick factory heritage. These homes will also offer access to jogging paths, fitness corners, and recreational facilities, ensuring a holistic living experience for future residents.
With this launch, HDB continues to evolve its building program, aiming to increase the supply of SWT flats and better meet Singaporeans’ housing aspirations.
